After Matt said some pretty awful things to her, Jesse left Seattle pregnant, friendless, homeless and with nowhere to go. Now after five years she has returned in the hope that her son can have a relationship with his father and that she can reconcile with her sister. Those who have read Sweet Spot will know Jesse's back story. Those who haven't will pick it up through annoying flashbacks infrequently inserted into the story. I think Susan Mallery has tried to be a little too tricky with the flashback device and the story would have been better served with a prologue.Setting that aside, this is a good by the numbers contemporary romance. There are no real surprises but it's entertaining.
