When Meg Koranda meets Ted Beaudine for the first time it's on the eve of her best friend, Lucy's wedding to him. She immediately sees what nobody else sees, Ted is completely unsuitable for Lucy. She manages to convince Lucy of this, and Lucy abandons Ted at the alter.Seems like a Hollywood Romantic comedy right there, but that's just in the first couple of chapters. The whole town of Wynette, Texas loves Ted...ergo they hate the woman who ruined the celebrity wedding of the year. That's all good and well, Meg doesn't plan on hanging around for her lynching.Unfortunately her parents have cut her off and with no money to pay her hotel bill she is forced to work off her debt to Wynette. And at every turn is Ted, making sure she won't have a single fond memory of Texas, but it's hard to ignore the only woman in the Lone Star State who doesn't adore him. This is very good romantic fluff which occasionally moves into more serious subjects. It's quite easy to read, usually humorous, occasionally sad, but ultimately satisfying.
