After the disappointment of "61 Hours" and "Worth Dying For" I wasn't expecting all that much from "The Affair". I thought Jack Reacher as a character was looking a little tired and rough around the edges. Perhaps Lee Child has returned to real coffee after an ill-advised venture into decaf because "The Affair" is really very good. Very much a return to form.I do think that perhaps it's time for Lee Child to explore some other characters in his stories. I can't help but think Neagley who has appeared in a number of the Lee Child's novels might be the heir apparent for Jack Reacher.
