3¾ StarsAfter reading The Catch of the Day which was underwhelming, I wasn't expecting all that much from this book. I was quite pleasantly surprised that Somebody to Love which follows on from Catch of the Day is really very good. Parker has lived a life of privilege. Money has never been a problem for her. That is until her father is convicted of insider trading, all his assets are seized and he's thrown into jail. All she has is her 3 year old car and a beach shack in Gideon's Cove, Maine. Needing money she travels to Maine to do some cheap renovating so she can flip it and get some money behind her. James has always been attracted to Parker, but he's also one of the minions who work for Parker's father. For years she has barely tolerated him, and when she moves to Maine he sees his chance and follows her up to help with the renovations.Somebody to Love is a long way from perfect, but it's pretty damned good. It does get a little sad from time to time, but for the most part it's a positive and upbeat love story about a blended family.
