For some reason I really love the first chapter of this book. Angie is introduced sitting in a realtors office, signing a contract to sell the property she grew up in. Her business as a wilderness guide fell on very hard times after Dare Callahan opened up a competing business in the same area. Desperate for business she has accepted a job guiding two men into the mountains on a bear hunt, but the men are not what they claim to be. After the very good beginning the book settled into a very slow, sometimes plodding setup. To be honest, I found the wordiness of the book a little painful at times. I don't think you need to spend half a chapter describing a situation that isn't integral to the story, but overall I enjoyed the book and I'm glad I read it.
